IFIC Ireland in partnership with the Health and Social Care Board of Northern Ireland (HSCBNI) and the Health Service Executive (HSE) Ireland will host a half-day workshop for academics, researchers, managers, clinicians, policy makers, users and carers of health and social care services across the island of Ireland. The workshop will be chaired by IFIC Ireland’s Chairperson and Director of Integrated Care HSCBNI, Dr. Sloan Harper.

The year 2018 witnessed incredible global mobilization for the prevention and management of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Member States, WHO and partners expanded their commitments and the scope of their work to achieve ambitious targets. The third United Nations high-level meeting on NCDs and a series of high-level international meetings and conferences on the health system response to NCDs, primary health care, global mental health and air pollution will serve as context and background for the WHO European High-level Conference on Noncommunicable Diseases. The event will take place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on 9–10 April 2019.

The WHO Symposium on the Future of Digital Health Systems in the European Region will bring together evidence and experience to show how governments and organizations can adopt digital health to reduce inequalities and improve the health and well-being of populations.

The Symposium will help policy-makers prepare for the digitalization of health systems by sharing country experiences of:

• - How digital health and emerging innovations are being used to strengthen national health systems
• - Digital health activities currently underway
• - How digital technologies can empower individuals and health-care workers.

On November 8 from 10 to 17.30 will take place in the Andalusian School of Public Health (Granada), a conference focused on the 40 years since the declaration of Alma-Ata and the work done at the World Conference on Primary Care Astana (Kazakhstan) by the health representatives of the countries and the World Health Organization, to update a new declaration.

As the national rhetoric focuses on supporting the delivery of population health and integrated care, different models of care and new ways of working are being implemented across England. While integrated care systems (ICSs) are emerging to lead on planning and commissioning care for their populations, providers are also working together to deliver integrated care locally. 

This two-day congress provides an established forum for health and care professionals to come together and learn from successful adoptions and practical implementations of digital health and care. The aim of the event is to share learning and encourage adoption, so your project should be active, showing digital technology in practice under one of the project themes above.
