Clinicians’ experience of providing care: a rapid review

Health care services internationally are refocussing care delivery towards patient centred, integrated care that utilises effective, efficient and innovative models of care to optimise patient outcomes and system sustainability. Whilst significant efforts have been made to examine and enhance patient experience, to date little has progressed in relation to provider experience. This review aims to explore this knowledge gap by capturing evidence of clinician experience, and how this experience is defined and measured in the context of health system change and innovation.

Patient feedback to improve quality of patient-centred care in public hospitals: a systematic review of the evidence

Public health services have been moving towards putting patients at the centre of their care. This paper aimed to review systematically the published literature relating to interventions informed by patient feedback for improvement to quality of care in hospital settings. Multi-component interventions which targeted both individual and organisational levels were more effective than single interventions. Care is truly patient-centred when it is guided by the perspective of the one that matters - the patient.

Effective implementation approaches for healthy ageing interventions for older people: A rapid review

Given the advanced demographic transition in the world, seeking healthy aging is an imperative task. In this review, strategies that favor a better quality of life for the elderly are shown, including the interaction of different levels of care (intra and extra system). All of this results in better global health indicators for the elderly population, which in turn translates into less need for care by the system.

Lessons on the COVID-19 pandemic, for and by primary care professionals worldwide

During the early stage of the pandemic, primary care continued as the first point of contact to the health system but was poorly informed by policy makers on how to fulfil its role and ill equipped to provide care while protecting staff and patients against further spread of the infection. The pandemic presents important lessons to strengthen health systems through better connection between public health, primary care, and secondary care to cope better with future waves of this and other pandemics.

Integrated older people care and advanced practice nursing: an evidence-based review.

The world's population is aging rapidly. This is a fact, and the demand for services adapted to this new reality is increasingly necessary. The World Health Organization has proposed an integrative strategy centered on people. Here present a systematic review of strategies that address the care of older adults with the integrated care-centered approach to people.

The context, strategy and performance of the American safety net primary care providers: a systematic review

The objective of this research is to synthesize evidence on the relationship between context, strategies and performance in the context of federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), a core safety net health services provider in the United States. The research also identifies prior approaches to measure contextual factors, FQHC strategy and performance. Gaps in the research are identified, and directions for future research are provided.

From Crisis to Coordination: Challenges and Opportunities for Integrated Care posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic

COVID-19 has accentuated the stark reality that, despite the efforts of the past 20 years, there remains a continued failure to embrace integrated care systems. It has also demonstrated how quickly systems, organisations and individuals can change, if they must. The uptake in telehealth, eHealth and other technological support systems is unprecedented, even though only a couple of months ago this was unthinkable on a broad scale in many countries. The swiftness of multi-disciplinary teams coming together to find flexible solutions to the day-today challenges during lockdown has shown how we can achieve effective communication and collaboration.

Health and care services are becoming increasingly strained and healthcare authorities worldwide are investing in integrated care in the hope of delivering higher-quality services while containing costs. The cost-efectiveness of integrated care, however, remains unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to appraise current economic evaluations of integrated care and assesses the impact on outcomes and costs.
